Othelle “Tillie” Lightfoot, 100, of Bowling Green, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at Christian Health Center. The Butler County native was the daughter of the late Willie and Rena Bobbett Turner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, JD Lightfoot. 

Mrs. Lightfoot was a member of Faith Methodist Church and was previously a member of Westside United Methodist Church. She was very active in the church, including as a member of the United Methodists Women, serving as a Sunday School teacher, and holding many other offices.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 6 at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home with burial to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 5 at the funeral home. Additional visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday, September 6. 

She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Benek (John); a son, Randy Lightfoot (Sherry); two grandchildren, Amanda Hampton and Brent Lightfoot (Erin); two great-grandchildren, J.D. Lightfoot and Walker Hampton; and several nieces and nephews. 

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Faith Methodist Church.
