Olen "Red" Phelps, 90 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Friday, July 29, 2016, at his residence. Red was born on May 31, 1926, in Butler County Kentucky to the late Clay and Lula Toms Phelps. He was a member of Green Valley Church of Christ, and he retired from the United Mine Workers. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Dorothy Joiner Phelps; one sister Grethel Elmore and two brothers Euman and Eulon Phelps.
Red Phelps is survived by one daughter Christine Phelps and husband Kermit of Louisville, Ky.; three sons Larry Phelps and wife Carolyn of Morgantown, Ky., Eddie Phelps and wife Delinda of Louisville, Ky. and Tony Phelps and wife Gayle of Morgantown, Ky.; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at 11:00 am with Bro. Mike Tanaro officiating.

Burial will be in the Threlkel Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2016, from 3:00 pm- 8:00 pm and Wednesday 8:00 am until funeral time at 11:00 am at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
