Ola Mae Embry Johnson Wilson

Ola Mae Embry Johnson Wilson, affectionately known as Mae to her beloved friends and family, departed from this life on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at the age of 91, in Bowling Green, KY. Born on Tuesday, December 6, 1932, in Butler County, KY, Mae was a beacon of love and faith in the Brooklyn community that she called home for her entire life.

Mae's journey began as the cherished daughter of Noah A. and Ola Embry. Her vibrant spirit was a gift to her family, and her loving nature only grew throughout her life. Mae was preceded in departure by her devoted parents; her adoring husbands, Rev. James Clay Johnson and Ralph G. Wilson; her dear infant daughter, Susan Johnson; and her siblings, Audrey Embry, Reacil Embry, James H. "TeBo" Embry, Artie Willoughby, and Aline Cockerell.

Her legacy of compassion and kindness lives on through her children: Larry W. Johnson (Bridgett) of Columbia, KY, Regina Clark of Morgantown, KY, and Robert Johnson of Morgantown, KY. Mae's heart also found joy in her cherished granddaughter, Nicole Clark of Bowling Green, KY, her step-son, Bryan Wilson (Venita) of Leitchfield, KY, and step-granddaughter, Amanda Constant (Craig) of Leitchfield, KY. Her sister, Juanita Shepherd (Bill) of Morgantown, KY, along with numerous nieces and nephews, will carry the warmth of her memory close to their hearts, as will all who knew her at McDonald's, where she sought more as family than colleagues.

Mae's diligence and dedication were evident in her impressive career. She worked faithfully for General Electric in Owensboro, KY for 10 years before dedicating 25 years to Kellwood. She retired from McDonald's after a steadfast 20-year tenure. Also, Mae was a proud former owner of Wash Center Laundrymat. Her commitment to her faith was unwavering as a valued member of Chapel Union Missionary Baptist Church.

Mae's interests brought beauty and care into the world as she spent countless hours tending to her flower gardens, masterfully sewing, and cherishing moments with her family.
