Odessie Brown Gidcumb, 91 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Monday, March 10, 2014 at the Morgantown Care and Rehab. Odessie was born September 27, 1922 in Butler County Kentucky to the late Cornelius and Leona McKinney Brown and wife of the late Gus  Gidcumb. She was a member of Richland Missionary Baptist Church and retired seamstress for 38 years with Kanes. Mrs. Gidcumb is preceded in death by one daughter Dorothy Deel; 4 brothers Strother, Otis, Paten Brown and Focen McKinney; 2 sisters Pernie Kirby and Murnie McCoy and son in law Rodney Lee.
Odessie Brown Gidcumb is survived by 2 daughters Dulcie Faye Lee of Lewisburg, Ky. and Delphie Lee Pendley and  husband Harrison of Morgantown, Ky.; 6 granddaughters Joyce Nally and  husband David of Morgantown, Ky., Cheryl Coleman and husband Ronnie of Albuquerque,  New Mexico, Tammy Phelps and husband Doug of Morgantown, Ky., Pamela Rose and  husband Johnny "GG" of Morgantown, Ky., Sandra Deel of Bowling Green, Ky. and Linda Deel of Tennessee; 3 grandsons Robbie Deel and wife Kathy of Bowling Green, Ky., Tony Pendley of Morgantown, Ky.and Eddie Deel of Bowling Green, Ky.; 14 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren; 1 step great grandchild; son in law Wilbur Deel of Bowling Green, Ky. and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 1:00pm with Bro. Larry Orange and Bro. Jim McDaniel officiating. Burial will be in the Sandy Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 12, 2014 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm and Thursday from 8:00am until funeral time at the Jones Funeral Chapel. Online condolences may be made at www.jonesfuneralchapel.com
