The world lost a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Nancy Kay Snodgrass Byrd, on September 10, 2022. She was 67 years old.  Nancy loved her Savior, Jesus Christ, and her family fiercely. She was a lady of few words and many many acts of love and kindness. Although Nancy was very strong, causing her siblings to avoid fighting with her while growing up, her self-control and chosen gentleness were among her many gifts. Nancy was a member of Oak Ridge General Baptist Church and loved watching hummingbirds and sewing. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her son Jeremiah Franklin Byrd; her parents Lonnie and Corene Dockery Snodgrass; her father in law, John H. Byrd; her sister in law Billie Gale Byrd; her brother, Rodger Dale Snodgrass; her brother in law, David Daugherty and her niece Whitney Hunt Pinkerton. 

Nancy Byrd is survived by her husband, Billy Franklin Byrd; one son Jason Scott Byrd (Casey); one daughter Serena Kay Beasley; two grandsons Lafe Byrd and Lucas Beasley; three granddaughters Shelby Ashley, Katlyn Beasley and Nola Byrd; one great grandson Byran Sanchez; one great granddaughter Camila Sanchez; mother in law Theresa Holder; four brothers H.M. Snodgrass (Susie), Clifford Snodgrass (Charla), Venson Snodgrass (Sue), Eddie Snodgrass (Becky); five sisters Ann Daugherty, Rita McKinney (Roger), Patsy Kirby (Roger), Fammie Green (Jim), Renea Hunt (Doyle); two sister in laws Theresa Byrd Marx and Angie Byrd Sentell (David); one brother in law Mitch Hall (Michelle); eighteen nephews, sixteen nieces and a host of extended family. 

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 11:00am with Bro. Adam Kirby officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery where her nephews Alex Snodgrass, Eric McKinney, Joey Kirby, Ben Snodgrass, Clint Snodgrass, Jordan Green and Cade Snodgrass will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 13, 2022 from 3:00pm - 8:00pm and Wednesday 8:00am until funeral time at 11:00am at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
