Myrlene Cox, 88 of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away Friday, January 22, 2021 at Morgantown Care & Rehab. Myrlene was born on Friday ,October 14, 1932 in Butler County, Kentucky to the late William Amos and Laura Bell Coleman Cardwell and wife of the late C.W. Cox. She was a member of Leonard Oak General Baptist Church and a Kentucky Colonel. Myrlene loved singing gospel music, and was a part of several gospel quartets and involved in various church committees and functions. Other than her parents and husband she is preceded in death by one daughter Brenda Hunt, one son Robbie Cox, one granddaughter Kristy Havens, one daughter in law Barbara Cox , two son in laws David Young and Ronnie Hunt, two sisters Geneva Cox and Pauline Stone and four brothers Arlle, Harley, RD Bumble Bee, and Oscar Cardwell.

Myrlene Cox is survived by two daughters Linda Cox and Diane Young both of Morgantown, KY; three sons Randall Cox and wife Nancy of Morgantown, KY, Charles "Chobby" Cox and wife Lisa of Brownsville, KY and Scott Cox and wife Leslie of Bowling Green, KY; 19 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; 21 great great grandchildren; one brother James Ernest Cardwell of Morgantown, KY; three sisters Justine Cardwell of Bowling Green, KY, Thelma Woosley of Morgantown, KY, Nadine Beckner of Bowling Green, KY and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at 2:00pm with Bro. Lindle Keown and Bro. Kenny Cox officiating. Burial will be held in the Hill Haven Memory Garden where her grandsons and great grandsons will serve of pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 from 10:00am until funeral time at 2:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
