Michael David Phelps, age 56, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

He was born on October 1, 1969, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and lived a life marked by love, laughter, and generosity.

Michael was employed at WPT Warehouse, where he was respected for his work and dependable nature.  He enjoyed the simple pleasures that meant the most to him. Michael loved fishing and found peace in time spent outdoors. He was also an avid football fan and especially enjoyed cheering for the Green Bay Packers. Baseball was another favorite pastime, and he followed the Cincinnati Reds with interest and enthusiasm. .

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie D. and Costella Embry Phelps, and by his mother-in-law, Mary Lou Dameron. 

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Angela Phelps of Beaver Dam, Kentucky. They were married on February 14, 2000, and shared a devoted life together built on love, companionship, and family. He also leaves behind his children, Kelton Phelps of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, Michaela Phelps of Franklin, Kentucky, and Dakota Phelps of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, who were a source of great pride and joy in his life.

Michael is also survived by his siblings, Tony Phelps of Hartford, Kentucky, Ellen Winstead and her husband Michael of Hartford, Kentucky, Phillip Phelps of Morgantown, Kentucky, and Doris Phelps and her husband Greg Hunt of Beaver Dam, Kentucky. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Flatwood Church of Christ Saturday, May 23, 2026 at 5:00pm with Bro. Chester Phelps officiating. Burial will be in the Flatwood Cemetery where his family and friends will serve as pallbearers.Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026 from 3:00pm until funeral time at 5:00pm at the Flatwood Church of Christ.
