Michael Anthony "Mike" Phelps, age 78 of Morgantown, KY passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at the TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Mike was born Thursday, April 26, 1945 in Alexandria, Virginia to the union of the late Ollie and Catherine Brenner Phelps and husband of the late Betty Jean Havens Sickles Phelps. He was a deacon and member of the Morgantown First Baptist Church and a member of Cassia Masonic Lodge #272. Mike retired from the Kentucky Department of Transportation and after retirement he worked for Graves Gilbert Clinic in Bowling Green, KY. He enjoyed watching UK Basketball, playing golf and running. Other than his parents and wife he is preceded by death by one grandson Brock Hampton and one sister Ramona Burton. 

Michael "Mike" Phelps is survived by three daughters Tonya Hampton (Tim) of Logansport, KY, Sonya House of Bowling Green, KY and LaTisha Howard (Shawn) of Morgantown, KY; five grandchildren Tori Hampton (Houston) of Morgantown, KY, Tera Hampton of Logansport, KY, Cole House of Bowling Green, KY, Breanna and Kaleigh Howard of Morgantown, KY; one brother John Phelps (Charlotte) of Bowling Green, KY; one sister Anita Slaymaker of Fredericksburg, Virginia and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held at the Morgantown First Baptist Church Monday, January 22, 2024 at 12:00pm with Bro. Greg Wallace officiating. Burial will be in the Hill Haven Memory Gardens where Tim Hampton, Shawn Howard, Cole House, Dale Havens, Phillip Johnson and Eric Phelps will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2024 from 4:00pm - 7:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel with Masonic Rites being conducted by Cassia Lodge #272 on Sunday at 6:00pm. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024 from 9:00am until funeral time at 12:00pm at the Morgantown First Baptist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Morgantown First Baptist Church Building Fund P.O.
