Melvin Boyd Pendley, age 80 of Morgantown, KY passed away Saturday, the 2nd day of March, 2024 at Morgantown Care and Rehab. Melvin was born Friday, the 24th day of December, 1943 in the South Hill Community of Butler Co. to the union of the late Thurman Boyd and Cleo Brown Pendley. He was retired from Holley Performance and enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially with his son and granddaughter. Other than his parents, Melvin is preceded in death by one brother, Howard N. Pendley.

Melvin is survived by his wife of 58 years, Phyllis Peay Pendley of Morgantown, KY, one son, Gregory Boyd Pendley (Terri) of Morgantown, KY, one granddaughter, Jenna Rae Pendley of Bowling Green, KY, one step-grandson, Tristan Phelps (Karmon) of Bowling Green, KY, one step-granddaughter, Hannah Hammond (Trent) of Bowling Green, KY, sister-in-law, Imogene Pendley of Morgantown, KY, two nephews; Alan Pendley (Teresa) of Morgantown, KY and Brian L. Pendley of TN, two nieces; Kathleen Pendley Brooks, of Morgantown, KY and Karen Sue Pendley Mudd (Ricky) of Caneyville, KY, and several great nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, the 6th day of March, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Rochester Cemetery with Bro. Gary Oberhausen officiating. Burial will follow in the Rochester Cemetery with Alan Pendley, Chad Oberhausen, Roger Wester, Kelly Wester, and Ricky Mudd serving as pallbearers.
