Melitta Deel

Melitta Deel, a cherished sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. Born on Sunday, August 1, 1971, in Bowling Green, KY, Melitta's life was a testament to her loving, friendly, and thoughtful nature, which touched the lives of all who knew her.

Melitta was a proud graduate of Butler County High School, Class of 1991. Her commitment to her community was evident in her dedicated service of over 20 years at the Kentucky Department of Juvenile Justice in Bowling Green, KY, where she worked as the Transportation Coordinator. Melitta's work was not just a job; it was a passion, as she loved her role and the people she worked with.

A member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Melitta's faith was a cornerstone of her life. Melitta's interests were as vibrant and varied as her personality. She found joy in the beauty of flowers, the art of photography, and the creativity of sewing and crafting and she loved her puppies, cats, and chickens.

Family was the heart of Melitta's world. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Lonnie and Dorothy Gregory Deel, her brother Donnie Deel, and her sister Susan Deel. Her memory will be forever cherished by her surviving siblings: Ronnie Deel of Bowling Green, KY; Melinda Deel Fields (Mike) of Morgantown, KY; and Joey Deel (Kathy) of Morgantown, KY. Melitta's role as an aunt was one she embraced with love and joy, leaving behind eight nieces and nephews: Tina Frances, Tiffany Deel, T.J. Deel, Gracie Clark, Dawson Deel, Jordan Fields, Mikayla Fields, and Khloe Deel, as well as one great-niece, Margo Rose Clark. She also held a special place in her heart for Rachel Graham (Steve) of Morgantown, KY, and Kierra Neighbors and Kaleigh Proctor, both of Morgantown, KY, who were like family to her.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Wednesday, June 19. 2024 at 1:00pm with Bro. T J Howard officiating. Burial will be in the Tuck Cemetery where   Jordan Fields, Dawson Deel, Mike Fields, Steve Fields and Joey Deel will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm and Wednesday, 8:00am until funeral time at 1:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
