McDonald's celebrates Grand Reopening

McDonald's of Morgantown (located at 1174 S Main Street) celebrates a Grand Reopening on Saturday, April 23.

Smiles were plentiful this past weekend as McDonald's of Morgantown celebrated a Grand Reopening on Saturday, April 23.  The rennovation has been in the works for awhile and come on the heels of a U.S. 231 road project in front of the store.  Saturday's event featured company leaders, city and school leaders, and officials with the Morgantown-Butler County Chamber of Commerce.

McDonald's owner Vince Tanner kicked off the festivities and spoke of the changes that have taken place at McDonald's and his company's commitment to Morgantown.

"We’re delighted to bring an updated version of McDonald’s to Morgantown," said Tanner. "We fixed up the interior seating areas. The key feature is the two-lane drive-thru, which allows customers to be served quicker and more efficiently."

Well-known company mascot Ronald McDonald was also present for the grand reopening and was immediately a favorite for the children.  Children were also offered a photo with the iconic McDonald's mascot.

Attendees of the grand reopening were eligible to register for free prizes, including Fitbit, Wal-Mart gift cards and a free Extra Value Meals for a year card.

The original location opened on October 17, 1993, Tanner said.

Tanner also presented Butler County's Leader In Me Program with a $1,000 check during Saturday's Grand Reopening Ceremony.

Ronald McDonald spent some time working the drive-thru.

The New Q-WLBQ 101.5 did remote broadcasts from McDonalds during the grand reopening.
