Mary Smith Baxter, 65, of Rochester, Ky. entered her Lord’s rest joyfully on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky. She was born to the late Lenn James "Little Doc" and Charlotte Mae Moore Smith. Mary lived a life of service to others as a hospice nurse and caretaker for all. She attended Rochester United Methodist Church. She enjoyed music and had a song for everything. Her love of fall colors, swinging, playing cards, and family will be carried on through all that loved her dearly. Her motto was to keep it simple and Live, Laugh, and Love! She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Linda Joyce Smith.

Mary is survived by her husband of 45 years Greg Baxter of Rochester; children Sonya Rissler (Jason), Jason Baxter (Melissa), Janie Cambron (Jon); 7 grandchildren Joseph, Jacob, Madison, Savannah, Kennedy, Drake and Cole; siblings Jim Smith (Mary) of Chicago, Harold "Bo" Smith (Jane) of Wynne, Arkansas, Charles Smith (Hope) of Rochester, Jerry Smith (Brenda) of Bowling Green and Cheryl Gibbons (Mark) of Shelbyville, Ky.; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 11 am at Smith Funeral Home, 403 N. Main St., Morgantown, Ky. 42261, with Rev. Mark Gibbons officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky, 5872 Scottsville Rd., Bowling Green, Ky. 42104.
