Mary Joe Franklin

Mary Joe Franklin, 81 of Provo, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at the Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green, KY. Mary Joe was born on Saturday March 2, 1940 in Provo, Kentucky to the late Adriel and Margarite Holder Cox. She was a member of Monticello Missionary Baptist Church, Butler County Homemakers Association, past president of the Provo Rural Development and KY State Homemakes Association. Mary Joe volunteered for many years for the Butler County Cancer Assistance, she enjoyed crafting, making cards and reading. Mary Joe loved traveling, looking for and collecting shells at the beach and attending Glen Rice Concerts. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Charles Harrison Sr.

Mary Joe Franklin is survived by her husband of 20 years Tommy Gene Franklin of Provo, KY; seven children Janet Grant (Billy) of Louisville, KY, Charlie Harrison Jr. of Louisville, KY, Jennifer Harrison of Bardstown, KY, Layna Snell (Eddie) of Morgantown, KY, Phillip Franklin (Melissa) of Franklin, KY, Renee McGuyer (Bobby) of Provo, KY and Gina Dockery (Jason) of Franklin, KY; 20 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and one brother Donald Cox (Carol) of Clarksville, TN.

Visitation will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Saturday, July 24, 2021 from 10:30am - 2:00pm with graveside services following in the Monticello Church Cemetery at 3:00pm with Bro. Randy Burns officiating. Burial will be held in the Monticello Church Cemetery where Brandon McGuyer, Brandon Grant, David Snell, Rodolfo Harrison, Kevin Bradley, Jacob and Nick Dockery will serve as pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Kentucky 5872 Scottsville Rd. Bowling Green, KY 42104.
