Mary Inez Bentley Brown

Mary Inez Bentley Brown, 78, of Morgantown passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at the Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital in Bowling Green, Ky.  She was born in Allen, Ky. on October 5, 1939 to the late William and Nancy Wright Bentley. She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Frogtown, Ky. and attended a church in Morgantown with her best friend Brenda Coots.  Mary worked various jobs and made a home for her children, she was compassionate, welcoming and had a heart for those in need.  She was adamant in her prayer life.   She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, gardening and reading the word of God.  Granny as she was known is dearly loved and missed.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lincoln Brown; son Charles Brown; daughter Linda Brown (Ballard's wife); great granddaughter Evy Kaye; four siblings John Earl Bentley, Marrion (Buddy) Bentley, Sally Haywood and Carol Hager.

 

Mary is survived by her children Patricia Brown of Lexington, Ky., Rick and Teresa Brown of Bremen, In., Ballard Brown of Lexington, Ky., David and Bill Brown of Morgantown, Vanessa and David White of Morgantown, Rodney Blunk of Morgantown and Julie Bradley of Mobile, Al.; 20 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; four siblings Martha Akers of Morgantown, Buck Bentley, William Bentley both of Eastern, Kentucky, Patsy Propst of Bremen, IN, and her beloved dog Digger.

 

Funeral Service will be held at Smith Funeral Home on, Friday, February 23, 2018 at 1pm.  Burial will be on Saturday, February 24 at the Davidson Memorial Gardens in Ivel, Ky. at 1pm (EST).  Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 5-8pm and Friday, February 23 from 8am until time of service at Smith Funeral Home, Morgantown, Ky.
