Marvin Eugene Elder, 70 of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at his son's residence in Scottsville, Ky.
He was a Butler County native, son of the late Dud and Carrie Phelps Elder.
He was a member of Cool Springs General Baptist Church and Woodbury Masonic Lodge and retired breadman. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Ky 5872 Scottsville Rd. Bowling Green, Ky 42104. He was preceded in death by his brother, Douglas Elder.
Marvin Eugene Elder is survived by 2 sons John Elder and wife Melissa of Scottsville, Ky and Joe Elder of Bowling Green, Ky; 2 grandchildren Andrew Smith and Joey Elder both of Bowling Green, Ky; 2 sisters Doris Bobbett and husband Roger of Morgantown, Ky and Cheryl Johnson and husband Allen of Woodbury, Ky and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation was chosen, all services will be private and are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Chapel.
