Marvin Antonio Avelar

Marvin Antonio Avelar, known affectionately as Marvin to his friends and family, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the age of 48, at his residence Morgantown, Kentucky. Born on Wednesday, June 15, 1977, in El Salvador, Marvin brought light and joy into the lives of all who knew him.

Marvin is survived by his beloved wife of six years, Alexandra Avelar of Morgantown, KY, whom he married on February 23, 2019. He was a cherished son to,  Francisca Aguilar Avelar, of El Salvador. He is also survived by 3 stepchildren, Jordan, Jacob, and Caleah, and his step-grandson, Callum, who will miss him dearly. His brother, Duran Geovanni, along with his extended family, including Lee & Stephanie Carroll, Jason & Kellie Carroll, Jeremy Carroll, Kim Payne, Jarrod Brown (Kris), Josh Brown, Adam & Sheri Carroll, Scotty Carroll, and Penny Cannon, will fondly remember Marvin's warmth and generosity.

For 24 years, Marvin dedicated his skills as a welder at Stupp Bridge Company in Bowling Green, KY. His work was not just a job but a craft he honed with passion and precision.

Marvin's interests were as varied as they were rich. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, finding peace and contentment in the great outdoors. His hands were rarely still, as he was often found woodworking, welding, or painting. Marvin's hobbies were not mere pastimes; they were extensions of his love for life.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 2:00 pm with Bro. Tim Colovos officiating. Burial will be in the Carroll Family Cemetery with Lee Carroll, Jason Carroll, Geovanni Duran, Josh Brown, Jacob Perron, Adam Carroll, Scottie Carroll and Caleah McClure serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm and Saturday 12:00pm until funeral time 2:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Creutzfeldt Jakob Disease Foundation Inc. 3634 W Market Street Suite 110 Akron, OH 44333.
