Marsha Ann Vance Brooks

Marsha Ann Vance Brooks of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at the age of 73. Marsha was born in Butler County to Austin House "Hike" Vance, Sr. and Margie Smith Vance. Marsha was beloved by many for her kindness, words of encouragement, inspiration, and devotion to her family. She served her community through various organizations, including The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she was a devout member. Marsha’s unfaltering faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life. She knew her Savior intimately and worshiped Him faithfully.  Marsha’s firm belief that “Families are Forever” served as a tightly woven thread that bound her to those dearly loved.

In Marsha’s younger years, she worked as a secretary for munitions at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base where her husband, Vivin, was stationed during his time in the United States Air Force. She also worked for UPS as a delivery driver. Later in life she worked for Morgantown Community Action as an office assistant and also as a property manager for Sunmark & Butler Manor apartments. Ultimately, working as a homemaker was where she chose to focus her life’s work. She created a home that was truly a haven for both her children and their friends. Her home always had an open door, and as a result, many wonderful memories with family and friends were created throughout her lifetime. Her family was the most important thing to her. She always looked forward to every event when her family could all be together.

Marsha is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Vivin Brooks; four children Jarrod Brooks (Holly), Heather Tuck (Robert), Alison Howard (Jeremy), and Amber Brooks; eight grandchildren Austin, Waveney, and Grace Brooks, Emma and Caleb Thatcher, Raegan Tuck, Elizabeth and Kaitlyn Howard; and three siblings Iris Walter (John), Deena Romans (Ronnie), Austin H. Vance Jr. (Cheryl). She is preceded in death by her parents.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 9:00 am - 12:30 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Morgantown.
