Marilyn Phelps Cardwell

Marilyn Phelps Cardwell, 71 of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky. Marilyn was born May 24, 1942 in Butler County to the late Nevel Phelps and Reva Embry Jones. She was baptized into the church of Christ in 1954 and a member of the Morgantown Church of Christ and a retired sewing factory worker and devoted house wife, mother and grandmother.
Marilyn Phelps Cardwell is survived by her husband of 55 years Doyle Cardwell of Morgantown, Ky.; 2 daughters, Pam Weathers of Bowling Green, Ky., and Kim Drake and husband Denny of Morgantown, Ky.;  son Brad Cardwell and wife Sandy of Morgantown, Ky.; 2 granddaughters, Ashley Weathers (Cody) of McHenry, Ky. and Tori Cardwell of Morgantown, Ky.; 3 grandsons Chris Wallace, Jordan Wallace and Hunter Cardwell all of Morgantown, Ky.; 3 great grandchildren Avery Wallace of Bowling Green, Ky., Addison Everly of McHenry, Ky. and Sage Wallace of Morgantown, Ky.; 2 sisters, Shelia Burton of Morgantown, Ky., and Tina Colter and husband Timmy of Morgantown, Ky.; 1 brother Lee Phelps and wife Brenda of Morgantown, Ky.; special sister in- law Katie Barks of Morgantown, Ky., and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Friday, January 3, 2013 at 2:00pm with Bro. Roger Worley officiating. Burial will be in the Butler Phelps Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, January 2, 2014 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm and Friday 8:00am until funeral time at 2:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
