Lorene Johnson, 95, of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield, Kentucky. Lorene was born July 12, 1919 in Ohio County, Kentucky to the late Rado and Gusta Wilcox Clark and was the wife of the late Cooper Johnson. She was a member of Brooklyn Missionary Baptist Church and a homemaker. 

Other than her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by one son, James Johnson; one daughter, Betty Jean Burden; two sisters, Inez Phelps and Ruby Keown; three brothers, Newton, Aaron and James A. Clark; two grandchildren, Roger Lee Cardwell and James Curtis Cardwell; great-granddaughter Reagan Lee Meredith and one step-grandson, Jamie Ray Embry.

Lorene Johnson is survived by three daughters:  Margie Bratcher and husband Gordon of Caneyville, Kentucky; Helen Cockerell and husband Madrain of Caneyville, Kentucky;  Sharon Cardwell and husband Roger of Morgantown, Kentucky; five sons, Cooper Johnson Jr. and wife Tracy of Caneyville, Kentucky; Wendel Johnson and wife Phyllis of Morgantown, Kentucky; Glendal Johnson and wife Loretta of Morgantown, Kentucky; Roger Johnson and wife Janie of Caneyville, Kentucky; Danny Johnson and wife Lisa of Morgantown, Kentucky; 22 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren and one sister, Anna Mae Phelps of Roundhill, Kentucky

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Friday, January 2, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Gary Embry and Bro. Clint White officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel on Thursday January 1, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. until funeral time at 1:00 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
