Lois Cannon Threlkel

Lois Cannon Threlkel, age 92, of Morgantown, KY passed away peacefully on Friday, Mar. 11, 2022 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky.  She was born in Butler Co., KY on Jan. 27, 1930 to the late Herman and Betty Wilson Cannon.  She was married in August of 1946 to Henry B. Threlkel and celebrated 67 years together before Henry’s passing in August of 2013.  Lois loved her family, especially her grandchildren.  She loved country music and played bass guitar in a band called The Country Ramblers with Henry and her brother Harold.  She enjoyed bowling and was on a league many years.  She loved to quilt and has made quilts for most of her family members.  She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Henry Threlkel; daughters Patty in 1956 and Sue Threlkel in 2012; granddaughter Pamela Jo in 1963 and grandson Bradley Threlkel in 2012.

Lois is survived by five children Jan Morgan of Indianapolis, IN, Ron Threlkel (Barbara) of Plano, KY, Betty Vance (Jimmie) and Tommy Threlkel all of Franklin, KY and Anita Minton (James) of Morgantown; seven grandchildren Judy Brothers, Charlie Threlkel, Jennifer Sauter, Kelly Vance, Zackary Threlkel, Daniel Minton and Leslie West; 13 great-grandchildren Erin and Matthew Brothers, Ashley Shell, Elisha, Chloe and Selah Sauter, Zayden, Lily, Ava and Mia Threlkel, Annabeth Minton, Carter and Karolina West; four great-great grandchildren Andrew Brothers and new triplets Raelynne, Riley and Roslyn Shell; one sister Mary Taylor of Franklin, IN; sisters-in-law Virginia Threlkel and Doris Threlkel of Elkton, KY; several nieces, nephews and friends.

A Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, Mar. 19, 2022 at 2pm at Smith Funeral Home.  Burial will be held in the Threlkel Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, Mar. 19 from 10am-2pm at Smith Funeral Home.
