Livona “Hammie” Daugherty

Livona “Hammie” Daugherty of Horse Branch, Kentucky went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Signature Healthcare in Hartford, Kentucky. She was born March 20, 1924 in Cromwell, Kentucky to the late Frank and Iva Gidcomb Burden. Mrs. Daugherty was a member of Sugar Grove Church of Christ. She was a homemaker and loved working in her garden as long as she was able. She was preceded in death by her husband, Antney, Sr.; her parents; two brothers, Otis Burden and Loy Burden; three sisters, Pernie Tarrence, Lucille Daugherty, and Nellie Flanagan; an infant son, Robert.

Survivors include two daughters, Girthel (J.D.) Keown and Janice Whitehouse both of Horse Branch; one son, Antney (Elaine) Daugherty of Morgantown; two stepdaughters, June Wilson of Louisville and Betty Raley of Hartford; twelve grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; nineteen great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 27, 2017 at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Rev. Gerald Geary officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Horse Branch, Kentucky. Friends may visit with Mrs. Daugherty’s family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday and from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
