Lisa Kay Oaks

Lisa Kay Oaks, age 66, of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away on June 15, 2026, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky. She was born on October 2, 1959, in McLean County, Kentucky, and lived a life marked by love, faith, and devotion to her family and community.

Lisa was the daughter of the late Charles Buck and Lucille Henderson Schindler. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Tyler Oaks. Those who knew her will remember her as a loving, faith-filled, and thoughtful woman whose presence brought comfort and warmth to the lives around her.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Vernon Oaks of Morgantown, Kentucky. She also leaves behind her son, Nick Oaks (Maranda) of Morgantown, Kentucky; her daughters, Audra Gregory of Morgantown, Kentucky, and Janie Oaks (Erin Tikkanen) of Bowling Green, Kentucky; and her cherished grandchildren, Eli Oaks, Jace Oaks, Shay Oaks, Kayzlee Oaks, Bryar Gregory, Kayn Cardwell,  Alex Oaks (Trisha), and Callie Cardwell (Austin), all of Morgantown, Kentucky. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren, who brought her great joy, as well as her siblings, Karen Bolton (Gene) of Calhoun, Kentucky, Buddy Wayne Schindler (Joann) of Livermoore, Kentucky, and Cora Ann Jones (Lester) of Wilmington, North Carolina. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

Lisa was a member of Oak Ridge General Baptist Church, and a hardworking and dedicated woman who owned and operated the Dairy Queen in Morgantown from 1995 to 2005. Through her work, she became a familiar and respected part of the community, and she took pride in serving others with kindness and care.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Thursday, June 18, 2026 at 2:00pm with Bro. Jeremy Brooks officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:00am until funeral time at 2:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
