Lester Glyn Tyree

Lester Glyn Tyree, 81 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Sunday, February 14, 2016 at his residence. Glyn was born on Saturday, August 25, 1934 in Butler County Kentucky to the late James Vinyard and Bonnie Eileen Duncan Tyree. He was a member of Union Missionary Baptist Church, a United States Air Force Veteran where he severed as a military police and received the National Defense Medal. Glyn retired from Emerson Electric in Russellville Kentucky after 34 years and was a 24 year member of the 2nd District Volunteer Fire Dept., he served as 2nd District Magistrate for 12 years also served as a board member for the Farm Service Agency in Butler County Kentucky. He was a school bus driver for the Butler County School System from 1960- 1961. Glyn was a  life long farmer and enjoyed coon hunting. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by one brother and one sister in- law James and Mazel Tyree, and brother in-law Beckham Martin.
Lester Glyn Tyree is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Marlene Tyree of Morgantown, Ky.; one daughter Debbie Hunt and husband Ben of Morgantown, Ky.; two sons Glendon Tyree and wife Jana of Morgantown, Ky. and Gerald Tyree and wife Heather of Morgantown, Ky.; five granddaughters Jennifer Hunt of Louisville, Ky., Laura Hunt of Lexington, Ky., Emily Hunt of Richmond, Ky., Ashley Cox and husband Ronald of Clarksville, Tn., Lauren and Erin Tyree of Morgantown, Ky.; four grandsons Michael Hunt and wife Heather of Morgantown, Ky., Nicholas Tyree and wife Emily of Russellville, Ky., Justin Tyree of Estes Park CO and Blake Tyree and wife Magen of Morgantown, KY.; seven great grandchildren Gabriel Stallings of Morgantown, Ky., Clay and Chaney Hunt of Morgantown, Ky., Mackenzie and Addison Tyree of Russellville, Ky., Roslynn Cox of Clarksville, Tn and Paisley Tyree of Morgantown, Ky.; two sisters Betty Martin of Magnolia, Ky. and Sue Givens and husband Doug of Morgantown, Ky.; two brothers Willis Tyree and wife Christine of Richlou, Ky. and Charles "Bud" Tyree and wife Shelia of Morgantown, Ky. and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Thursday, February 18, 2016 at 1:00pm with Bro. Jim McDaniel officiating.

Burial will be in the Tyree-London Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm and Thursday, February 18, 2016 from 8:00am until funeral time at 1:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
