Lester Daugherty

Lester Daugherty, age 96 of Bowling Green, Ky passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at his residence.  The Ohio County native was the son of the late Shelby and Yettie White Daugherty and husband of the late Hazel Daugherty. He was also preceded in death by five sons, Tinkle, Claude, Claudie, Clayton and Jimmy Daugherty; three sisters, Dorine Evans, Katherine Allen, Louise Goodman; two brothers, Chester and Mayburn Daugherty; and two grandchildren. Connie Easton and baby Daugherty.  He was a retired farmer and a member of New Liberty Baptist Church in Butler County, Ky.  He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather. He loved riding his four wheeler, chewing tobacco, hunting and fishing, sitting in his swing and he loved all his neighbors.

Lester is survived by two sons, Rev. David G. Daugherty (Sandy) of Rockfield, Ky., and Bobby G. Daugherty (Terri) of Alvaton, Ky.; five daughters, Anna Adams (Arthur), Woodburn, Ky., Kathleen “Kathy” Embry, Bowling Green, Ky, Nell Buchanon (Frank) Alvaton, Ky., Reda Bray (Phil) and Vickie Grant (Robert) of Bowling Green, Ky. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, 1 due in November, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends and neighbors.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 9, 2013 from 2:00 P. M. to 8:00 P. M. and Friday, May 10, 2013 from 9:00 A. M. to 1:00 P. M. at J. C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel.  Funeral service will be Friday, May 10, 2013 at 1:00 P. M. at the Lovers Lane Chapel, with burial in New Liberty Cemetery in Butler County, Ky.
