Lawrence "Baby Doll" Sorrels, 74 of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, formerly of Rochester, Kentucky,  passed away Monday, June 30, 2014 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Lawrence was born on Monday, March 25, 1940 in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky to the late Wilbur and Dovie Brown Sorrels. He was a member of Rochester Missionary Baptist Church, retired from P&M Coal Company as a under ground coal miner, member of the Coal UMWA and worked at the Rochester Water Department until its closing. Lawrence is preceded in death by his parents and one brother Louis Sorrels.
Lawrence "Baby Doll" Sorrels is survived by his wife Mary Sorrels of Beaver Dam, Ky.; two sons Mark Sorrels of Quality, Ky. and Timothy Sorrels of Beaver Dam, Ky.; one daughter Rebecca Hoffman husband Joe of Morgantown, Ky.; three granddaughters Danielle, Faith and Olivia Sorrels all of Morgantown, Ky.; five grandsons Zander Sorrels of Morgantown, Ky., Bryson Sorrels of Morgantown, Ky., Dakota Smith of Morgantown, Ky., Ray Smith of Morgantown, Ky. and Corbin Hoffman of Morgantown, Ky.; two sisters Marilyn Sorrels of Morgantown, Ky. and Onene Baize husband Bud of Centertown, Ky. and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 1:00pm with Bro. Roger Heltsley officiating. Burial will be in the Rochester Cemetery.
