Larry Leon Bratcher

Larry Leon Bratcher, age 71, of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY. He was born on August 5, 1954, in Louisville, Kentucky, and lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and a spirit that touched everyone who knew him.

He was the son of the late George W. and Margie D. Embry Bratcher. He was also preceded in death by his siblings George Walter Bratcher II, James W. Bratcher, Johnny Bratcher, Ollie Mae Johnson, David Bratcher Sr., Marie Rutherford, Edith Amos, Randall Bratcher Sr., Brenda Bratcher, and Diane Cardwell.

Larry is survived by his children, Leon Bratcher II and his wife Latasha of Beechmont, Kentucky, and Jennifer Ralph of Morgantown, Kentucky. He is also survived by the mother of  their children, Rose Bratcher of Morgantown, Kentucky. He leaves behind a loving family of grandchildren, including Heather McCoy and Zach Phelps of Morgantown, Kentucky, Dilan McCoy and Rebecca of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Justin Blunk and Lela of Morgantown, Kentucky, Megan Stanton and Caleb of Morgantown, Kentucky, Kristen Blunk, Isiah Bratcher of Morgantown, Kentucky, and Chloe, Keisha, and Dakota Bratcher, all of Beechmont, Kentucky. He was blessed with two great-grandchildren, Scarlett and Rory Phelps of Morgantown, Kentucky. He is also survived by his adopted sister, Pauline Bratcher of Morgantown, Kentucky, his special friends Anthony and De-Ann Shain and  Kyle Massey (Ashley) of Morgantown, Kentucky, and several nieces and nephews.

Larry loved tractors and being on the farm. He found joy in staying busy, lending a hand when needed, and spending time with family and friends. His presence brought comfort and laughter to those around him, and he had a way of making others feel welcome. Those who knew Larry will remember him as a funny, generous, and selfless man. 

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 1:00pm with Bro. Cody Russ officiating. Burial will be in the Satterfield Cemetery where Kyle Massey, Caleb Stanton, Zach Phelps, Justin Blunk, Dilan McCoy and Leon Bratcher II will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026 from 9:30am until funeral time at 1:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association P.O.
