Kermit Wayne Grayson, age 89 of Huntsville, KY passed away on the 15th day of September 2023 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. He was born on the 6th day of January 1934 in Huntsville, KY to the union of the late Raymond and Nina Ewing Grayson. In 1946 the family moved to Logan County where Kermit attended and graduated from Lewisburg High School. In 1954 he married Imogene Peveler of Russellville, KY. They lived in Owensboro until he entered the Air Force in 1956. After serving 4 years 8 months in 1960 he went to work for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) where he served in many locations and positions including Electronics Technician, Electronics Engineer and various levels of management. Kermit retired as manager of the Airway Facilities Sector responsible for KY, TN, MS and AL. He received numerous commendations. One he cherished most was from President and Barbara Bush. After his FAA career he was an Aviation Consultant and later was part owner of Robison Aviation (RVA) where he served as Director of Technical Operations and Support. He was a member and served as Deacon at the Huntsville Baptist Church. Kermit was a member of Gideons International serving in the Butler / Edmonson camp. He enjoyed working on and restoring old tractors, especially old Ford tractors but most of all he enjoyed family. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by one son Daniel Grayson; one sister Nina Shrull and seven brothers Gordon, Leland, Neal, Luther, Herald and Maurice.

 

Kermit Wayne Grayson is survived by his loving wife of 69+ years Imogene Grayson of Huntsville, KY; two sons Stephen Grayson of Huntsville, KY and James Grayson (Kelly) of Collierville, TN; two granddaughters Anelia Grayson (Joe) of Baltimore and Abigail Grayson of Houston, TX and several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 3:00pm with Bro. Greg Fields and Bro. Jim Watkins officiating. Visitation on Saturday will be held from 11:00am until funeral time at 3:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be held Sunday, October 8, 2023 at 2:00pm at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Russellville, KY.
