Kenny D. McPherson, aged 79, of Huntsville, KY, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2025, at Morgantown Care & Rehab. Born on December 7, 1945, to the late Claude and Jessie Lorelle DeArmond McPherson, Kenny's life was marked by his jovial spirit, his thoughtful nature, and his unwavering faith.
Kenny grew up in the close-knit community of Huntsville, where he attended the one-room school house Union Chapel School, an experience that instilled in him a lifelong love for simple, country living. He carried the values of his upbringing throughout his life, often seen tinkering with a new find or sharing a laugh with those around him.
He was a familiar face to many in the community, having served as a trusted driver for the Amish for several years. His work was more than a job; it was a means of connecting with people, of being of service, and of sharing stories.
Kenny's commitment to his community extended to his spiritual life. He was a member of the Huntsville Church of Christ until its closing and after graduating from Butler County High School, Kenny married and moved to Owensboro, KY and found fellowship and purpose serving in Southside Church of Christ, later in years he moved back to Butler County and attended Mt Moriah Church of Christ.
His love for the outdoors was evident to all who knew him. An avid hunter, Kenny found solace and excitement in the woods. His love for buying, selling, and trading was well-known, and his knack for finding value in the overlooked was unmatched. Kenny's sense of humor was as legendary as his generosity. He had a unique ability to find humor in everyday situations, and his laughter was contagious.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Valjean Porter, Sylvia Ferrell, and Joy Blaine. He is survived by his daughters, Kema Norlund (Charles) and Keri Griffin (Victor); his granddaughters, Marissa Norlund (Waylon) and Madison McWeeney (Blake); his brother, Bobby McPherson (Doris); his sister, Vernita Goodall (Charles); and several nieces and nephews.
