Kenneth Earl Barks, 81, of Shepherdsville, Ky. passed away Friday, November 4, 2016, at the Baptist Hospital in Louisville. He was born in Butler Co. on October 12, 1935, to the late Clifton Earl Barks and Ola Mae Gidcumb Barks. Kenneth was a retired Electrician from G.E., an Army Veteran, avid UK fan, loved collecting antiques and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers James, Wilford, and Harrold Barks.
Mr. Barks is survived by his wife of 55 years Joyce Elizabeth Franzell Barks of Shepherdsville, two children; Jim Barks (Robin) of Louisville. Sheila Young (Jeffery) of Shepherdsville, four grandchildren; Alex Young of Mount Washington, Evan Young of Nashville, TN., Ashleigh
Barks of Louisville,  Luke Young of Shepherdsville, sister-in-law; Nancy Gidcumb of Morgantown, brothers-in-law; Bobby and Charlie Franzell of Huntingburg, IN, many nieces, nephews & cousins.
Funeral Service will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at1:00 pm with Jeffery Young officiating.
Burial will follow in the Hill Haven Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 3:30-8 pm, Wednesday 10 am until time of service at Smith Funeral Home, Morgantown, Ky. Expression of Sympathy may be made to St Jude
Children Research Hospital or the WHAS Crusade for Children.
