Kathleen Phelps, age 78 of Morgantown, KY passed away Thursday, December 1, 2022 at her residence. Kathleen was born on Sunday,  January 16, 1944 in Racine, Wisconsin to the union of the late Edward and Alice Lord Hackman. Over the course of her life, Kathy lived in Wisconsin, Kentucky, Texas and Minnesota. Wherever she moved, she used her creative talent and work ethic to turn her house into a home. Kathy's straight forward, honest nature and loyalty, helped her build friendships that endured the test of time and distance. She invested her time and energy into her children, providing childhoods full of consistency, love and always laughter. Kathy's example of generosity, concern and faithfulness to God and those she loved, will leave on eternal impact on those who loved her. She was a member of Morgantown First Baptist Church and a homemaker. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by one son Tommy Phelps and two brothers Daniel and Kurt Hackman. 

Kathleen Phelps is survived by three daughters Carolyn Phelps, Amanda Taylor husband Robert and Liz Dye and husband Joe; one son Daniel Phelps and wife Jessica; grandchildren Heather Woodley husband Eric, Petey Phelps, Xavier Dye, Destiny Dye, Kaleigh Powers husband Caleb, Aurora Dye, Kurt Korb, Layla Dye, Joe Jr. Dye, Harmony, Dexter and Arbor Taylor, Kiarah, Briston, Kenden and Coben Phelps and one great granddaughter Maya Woodley. 

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 5, 2022 at 2:00pm with Bro. Derek Cain and Bro. Greg Wallace officiating. Visitation Monday, December 5, 2022 from 9:30am until funeral time at 2:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Morgantown First Baptist Church Building Fund P.O.
