Julia Ann Billingsley

Inman – Julia Ann Billingsley, 79, passed away Friday, May 31, 2019 at Sandstone Heights, Little River, KS. 

Julia was born July 31, 1939 in Albion, NE, the daughter of Harold Charles and Velma Myrtle (Sparks) Cash.  On November 8, 1989 she married Henry E. “Hank” Billingsley in Clarksville, TN. 

Julia graduated from York High School, York, NE in 1957 and attend one year of college at York Christian College, York, NE from 1957 – 1958.  She was a member of the Church of Christ in both Windom and Eastwood in Hutchinson.  Julia enjoyed being on the farm with Hank helping him with the day to day chores, tending her flowers and vegetable garden.  She and Hank loved spending time together and going square dancing as much as they possibly could.  Julia also took care of the farms bookkeeping and worked as a bookkeeper throughout the years for other businesses. 

She is survived by her husband Hank Billingsley of Inman, KS; a daughter Jeri Ann Johnson of Ashland City, TN; a son John Charles Whitmore of Webb City, MO; a stepdaughter Dotty Howton of Nashville, TN; a special nephew Robert Pohl of Ashland, TN; two sisters, Marion Dee Lee & husband Ed, Norma Jean Neujahr & husband Ron; three step grandchildren, five step great grandchildren, four nieces, nine nephews and six cousins.

Julia was preceded in death by her parents, a son James Edward Whitmore Jr., a daughter-in-law Alta Whitmore, a brother-in-law Bud Whitmore, a step son-in-law Scott Mallory, a special aunt Irene Sparks Williams, a nephew David Pohl, a great nephew Jamie Pohl, two cousins, Dennis Cash and Donna Rose Cash and several aunts and uncles.

Julia (Whitmore) Billingsley lived in Morgantown from October 1975 until November 1989 and worked for Phillip Johnson's TV and Appliance. She was a member of the Morgantown Church of Christ the entire time she lived in Morgantown.  She had many friends there.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at Eastwood Church of Christ, 2500 N. Plum St., Hutchinson, KS.  Visitation was held on Monday, June 3, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family present to greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, KS.  Burial will take place in the Windom Cemetery, Windom, KS.  Memorials may be given to the Julia Billingsley Memorial Fund and can be sent in care of the funeral chapel.
