Juanita Alford

 Juanita Alford, 89, of Caneyville, passed away Monday, January 5th, 2015 at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield. 

She was born on October 25th, 1925 in Shively, KY, the daughter of the late James Walter and Irene (Pryor) Hack. She was a member of the Caneyville Baptist Church. Juanita was a house parent in the Georgia Baptist Children’s Home.

She is survived by her daughter, Earline Nash (Sanford) of Greenville, IN; one son, Rodney Alford of Morgantown; two sisters, Alma Embry  also of Morgantown and Rose Cook of Port Wentworth, GA; a half-brother, Junior Hack of Leitchfield; 5 grandchildren, Debbie Bowman of IN, Rhonda Bronson and Robin Gilkey both of GA, Steve Alford and CJ Alford both of KY; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Alford and two sisters, Susan Thomas and Hattie Jane Taylor.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 8th at 11:00 am at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bro Paul Childress will be officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville Wednesday after 4:00 pm and Thursday from 9:00 am until time of service.
