Joyce L. Strasburger, 70 of Caneyville, Kentucky, passed away Monday, February 11, 2013, at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield, Ky. Joyce was born January 8, 1943, in Grayson County, to the late Earl and Dorothy Minton Cockrell. She was a member of Chapel Union Baptist Church and attended Small's Grove Church and retired supervisor at Kanes. She preceded in death by her step mother Bessie Cockrell; husbands Otis Dockery and John Daniel Nix; granddaughter Rebecca Henderson; 2 brothers James Ray Cockrell Sr. and Clesle Woosley; sisters Tylene Taylor and Imogene Brown.
Joyce L. Strasburger is survived by her husband Donald Strasburger of Caneyville, Kentucky; 3 daughters; Patricia Henderson (JR.) Morgantown, Ky., Elaine Smith of Bowling Green, Ky. and Jane Williams (Buddy) of Morgantown, Ky.; son Jimmy Dockery of LaGrange, Ky.; 2 step sons; BJ Strass (Monica) of Lafayette, CO and Dennis Strasburger (Angie) of Caneyville, Ky; 2 step daughters Robin Felix of Caneyville, Ky. and Toni Vanwye (Floyd) of Indianapolis, Indiana; 2 sisters Earlene Embry of Morgantown, Ky. and Evelyn Sweeney of Louisville, Ky.; sister in law Kathy Ruff (Doug) of Morgantown, Ky.; 4 grandchildren; 14 step grandchildren and 9 step great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Thursday, February 14, 2013, at 1:00pm with Bro.Randall Deweese and Bro. Gary Embry officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Union Cemtery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm and Thursday, February 14, 2013, from 8:00am until funeral time at 1:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.Online condolences may be made at www.jonesfuneralchapel.com
