Joyce Dorris, age 85, went home to be with the Lord on Christmas day, December 25, 2017.
She was born on September 17, 1932, in Nebo, Ky, to the late Bracie and Ruth Joyner.
She is preceded in death by her father, Bracie Joyner; her mother, Ruth Joyner; and her son, Chris Dorris.
She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Frankie Wayne Dorris of Jackson, Tn;  her daughter, Pam (Doug) Stephenson of Jackson, Tn; three grandchildren, Chad (Leslie) Bates of Jackson, Tn, Heather  (David) Barker of Martin, Tn, and Megan Dorris of Lexington, Ky; three great-grandchildren, Maggie Joyner Barker, Reese Erin Barker, and Roman Bates Barker all of Martin, Tn; and one sister, Sue (Curtis) Melton of Madisonville, Ky.
She was an active member of West Jackson Baptist Church in Jackson, Tn.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2017, at 10:00 am at the First Baptist Church Morgantown, Ky, with burial to follow at the Veterans Cemetery in Hopkinsville, Ky.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, from 4:00-8:00 pm, and again on Thursday, December 28 at 8:30 am until the service hour at 10 am at First Baptist Church Morgantown, Ky.
