J.L. Jones, age 76 of Morgantown, KY passed away Sunday, February 5, 2023 at the Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville, KY. J.L. was born on Sunday, July 28, 1946 in the Cromwell community of Ohio County, KY to the union of the late Paul J. and Ruth Sexton Jones and husband of the late Florence Rucker Jones. J.L. was a United States Army Veteran, member and deacon at Morgantown First Baptist Church. He retired after 25 plus years as the custodian of the Morgantown First Baptist Church. J.L. volunteered at the Morgantown Care & Rehab for many years and loved fishing on the Green River. Other than his parents and wife he is preceded in death by one daughter Tonya Suzanne Jones. 

J.L. Jones is survived by one daughter Ann Howard (Jeff); one granddaughter Deitra Fulton (Tony); three great grandchildren Emma, Maddy and Cody Fulton all of Morgantown, KY; two brothers Eddie Jones (Lisa) of Bowling Green, KY and Earl T. Jones (Norma) of Shelby, NC and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 1:00pm with Bro. Greg Wallace officiating. Burial will be held in the Walnut Grove Cemetery where military rights will be presented by the Ohio County AM Vets.Visitation will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm and Saturday 9:00am until funeral time at 1:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
