Jimmy Wayne Borders, Sr., 75, of Bowling Green, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at his residence.

The Sugar Grove, KY native was a son of the late Gilbert Borders and Mary Elizabeth Causey Borders. He was also preceded by a grandson.

Mr. Borders was a heavy equipment operator for Campbell Paving. He was a Christian and loved fishing and watching Nascar.

Survivors include his wife, Wenona Matlock Borders; four daughters, Bonnie Williams, Rhonda Borders, Crystal Rice and Elizabeth Bacon; four sons, Jimmy “B J” Borders, Mark Bacon, Kevin Borders and Sean Borders; one sister, Vonda Goodwin; one brother, Lloyd Borders; eighteen grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for1:00 pm, Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home with burial at the Lewis Chapel Cemetery in Hadley, KY. Visitation is scheduled from 4:00 pm –8:00 pm, Monday, March 6, 2023, and again from 11:00 AM – 1:00 pm on Tuesday at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home.
