Jimmie Phelps

Jimmie Boyd Phelps, 57,  of Scottsville, Ky. passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Phelps was born October 22, 1955 in Butler County, to the late Clarance Edward Phelps and Dorothy Lee Douglas Phelps.  He was a truck driver for Double P. Trucking and was a member of New Hope Full Gospel Church. Mr. Phelps was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Brenda White and Doris Lou Phelps and Father In-Law Brice Turner

Mr. Phelps is survived by his wife of 21 years, Kathleen Phelps of Scottsville; 6 children:  Amy Jo Duvall and husband Darrell of Leitchfield, Christopher Phelps and wife Angela of Morgantown, Amy Lee Baker and husband Daryl of Paducah, Ruth Ann Phelps and husband Pelon of Bowling Green, Timothy White of Bowling Green, Leon White of Morgantown; 10 grandchildren; 3 great- grandchildren; 3 brothers Chester Phelps and wife Lila, Owensboro, Moss Phelps and wife Margaret Ann of Morgantown, Doug Phelps of Morgantown; 2 sisters Elaine Johnson and husband Bennett of Morgantown, Carol Givens and husband Doug of Morgantown; several nieces and nephews.  

Funeral Service will be held at Carve Rock Baptist Church, Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with Bro: Daryl Baker officiating. Under the direction of Smith Funeral Home Burial will follow in the Newton Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, July 26, 2013 from 10:30 - 8:00 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home and Saturday 10 a.m. until time of service at Carve Rock Baptist Church.
