Jim G. Drake, age 80, of Morgantown, Ky. passed away peacefully on June 13, 2023 at the Hospice House of Southern Ky.  He was born in Butler Co., Ky. on August 27, 1942 to the late  William Edward and Elsie Harper Drake.  He was a retired steel worker and a Veteran firefighter in the Air Force.  Jim loved to collect coins and bird watch. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Ray Drake; sisters Judy Hall and Hazel Dean Baker.

Jimmie is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty Drake of Rochester; 3 children Lennie Drake (Jill) of Crown Point, In., Michael Drake (Ramona “Click”) of Valparaiso, In., Corrina Lake (Richard) of Murray, Ky.; 9 grandchildren Allison and Andrew Drake of Crown Point, In., Michaella Drake of Chesterton, In., Audrey and Jaxon Drake of Valparaiso, In., Katherine and Hunter Wood of Phoenix Az., Sam Wood and Harper Lake of Murray, Ky.; sister Caroline “Sis” Carter of California.  He leaves to all of his survivors his utmost unconditional Love.

Funeral Service will be held at 12pm on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Smith Funeral Home with Bro. Nicholas Greenman officiating.  Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Military Honors presented by the U.S. Airforce.   Visitation will be held on Friday, June 16 from 4pm-8pm and Saturday from 10am until time of service at 12pm at Smith Funeral Home.
