Jerry Wayne Hunt

Jerry Wayne Hunt, age 76 of Morgantown, KY, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. Born on October 8, 1947, in Butler County, KY, Jerry's life was characterized by his friendly nature, generous spirit, and profound faith.

Jerry is lovingly remembered by his close-knit family, including his son, Jerry Hunt (Dana), and daughter, Penny Lee (Ricky), both of Morgantown, KY. His legacy continues through his nine grandchildren, Katelynn Peach (Zach), Caleb Hunt (Hannah), Kenzie Hunt, Allie Beasley (Bryar), Trent Lee (Allie), Zack Lee (Kelsey), Brittney Mason (Josh), and Eric Beller (Cyndi), who all hail from Morgantown, KY. Jerry was a proud great-grandfather to Holden, Gage, Walker Lee, Rayna, Bristol, Violet, Archer Beller, Levi, Kennedy Mason, Cohyn, Oakleigh, Emory Faye Peach, Dutton Laine Hunt, Della Faye Lee, and Cason Wayne Hunt. He is also survived by his sisters, Mae Dean Howard (Tommy) and Jeanette Embry, along with several cherished nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Faye R. Stephens Hunt, his parents, Veachel and Delia Hunt, his sister, Linda Lee, and his brothers, Rodney, Donald, and Royce Hunt. His family takes comfort in knowing that he has been reunited with his loved ones in eternal peace. A man of deep religious conviction, Jerry grew up in the Belmont General Baptist Church and was a devoted member of the Oak Ridge General Baptist Church. His faith was a guiding principle throughout his life, providing strength and comfort to him and those around him.

Jerry retired from a fulfilling career at Delta Faucet in Morgantown, where he formed many lasting friendships and was respected by colleagues for his dedication and work ethic. Those who knew Jerry will fondly recall his love for the simple pleasures in life. He found joy in mowing grass, being outdoors, and watching his favorite westerns. Above all, Jerry cherished the time spent with his grandchildren, whose accomplishments and milestones brought him immeasurable happiness. Jerry's personality was the epitome of friendliness and generosity. He never hesitated to extend a helping hand or offer support to those in need. His faith-filled life was an inspiration to all who knew him, and his absence will be deeply felt by his family, friends, and community.

As we bid farewell to Jerry Wayne Hunt, we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by love, kindness, and a deep commitment to family and faith. His memory will continue to be a beacon of light for all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Jerry's story does not end with his passing, for his spirit lives on in the hearts of those he touched throughout his remarkable journey.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Monday, March 11, 2024 at 1:00 pm with Bro. TJ Howard and Bro. Jewel  Martin officiating. Burial will be in the Belmont Church Cemetery where Zack Lee, Trent Lee, Eric Beller, Caleb Hunt, Josh Mason and Zach Peach will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2024 from 3:00pm - 8:00pm and Monday 8:00am until funeral time at 1:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
