Jerry Maurice Martin, age 77 of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Hopice of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green, KY. Jerry was born on Sunday, August 26, 1945 in Greenville, KY to the union of the late John Columbus (J.C.) and Mary Katherine Burch Martin. Jerry was a graduate of Butler County High School Class of 1963 and a Army Veteran serving in Vietnam. He was a member of Woodbury Missionary Baptist Church and a 50 year member of Woodbury Masonic Lodge #280. Jerry served as a conservation officer for the Kentucky Dept. of Fish and Wildlife and was a salesman for many years at Roy Phelps Ford and Lee's Auto Sales. One of the things that Jerry was most proud of was being a third generation antique dealer and salesman, traveling all across the United States buying and selling antiques. He enjoyed wood working and being a craftsman of early American Furniture, restoring it to its original finish. Jerry loved telling stories and giving what he thought was good advice over a good cup of coffee. But most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends, always trying to instill and teach them about there heritage and The Good Ol Day's. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by one brother John Burch Martin and one sister Jenny Lynn Roberts.

Jerry Maurice Martin is survived by his wife of 33 years Sandra Embry Martin; four children John Martin, Rachel Chancy (Roger), Meredith Hall (Eddie) and James Martin (Levona); six grandchildren Sofia, Jazlyn, Morgan, Simone, Jace and Jocey; brother in law Dick Roberts; sister in law Mary Lou Martin Roberts and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at 2:00pm with Bro. George Morgan White and Bro.Raleigh Blancett officiating. Burial will be in the Hill Haven Memory Garden where military rights will be presented by the Ohio County AM VETS, where James and John Martin, Mark Slaughter, Kevin Roberts, Craig Martin and Joey Givens will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 from 2:00pm - 8:00pm and Wednesday 8:00am until funeral time at 2:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel. Masonic Rites will be conducted by the Woodbury Masonic Lodge #280 Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at 6:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Gideon's International P.O. Box 195 Morgantown, KY 42261.
