J.B. Renfrow, age 92, of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away on April 2, 2026, at his residence. He was born on June 22, 1933, in Butler County, Kentucky, and lived a long life marked by faith, hard work, devotion to family, and a steady presence that touched many lives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Renfrow and Zelmer Lindsey Tarrence; his wife, Recie Dee Embry Renfrow; his stepfather, Willard Tarrence; one daughter, Angela Martin; his daughter-in-law, Judy Renfrow; and his sister, Vida Lee. 

J.B. is survived by his three children, Danny Renfrow and his wife Darlene, Donald Renfrow, and Ben Renfrow and his wife Amber, all of Morgantown, Kentucky. He is also survived by his son-in-law, James Martin of Morgantown, Kentucky. He leaves behind a loving family of grandchildren, including Rebecca Jenkins and her husband Jeff of Morgantown, Kentucky, Daniel Renfrow of New York, Garrett Renfrow of Morgantown, Kentucky, Hannah Renfrow of Morgantown, Kentucky, Chelsey Costello and her husband P.J. of Morgantown, Kentucky, Jameson Findley of Morgantown, Kentucky, Jonathan Martin and his wife C.J. of Morgantown, Kentucky, and Brian Martin of Morgantown, Kentucky. He is also survived by great-grandchildren Chloe and Jayden Jenkins of Morgantown, Kentucky, Brayden Renfrow of New York, and Holden Blanford of Morgantown, Kentucky, along with several nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.

J.B. was a United States Army veteran, and his service to his country was a source of pride. Following his military service, he began his career at GE in Louisville, Kentucky. He later worked at Holland Dairy in Morgantown, Kentucky, for several years before retiring from TVA. He was known throughout his life as a dependable man who could always be counted on.

He was a member and deacon at Woodbury Missionary Baptist Church, where his faith was an important part of who he was.  J.B. enjoyed fishing, coon hunting, playing cards, watching UK Basketball, gardening, and making Hooey sticks. He found joy in simple pleasures and in the time spent doing the things he loved. He was also known as a handy man who could fix, build, and help wherever needed. 

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at 1:00pm with Bro. Murl Gray officiating. Burial will be in the Newton Cemetery where his family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 from 9:30 am until funeral time at 1:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
