Jarald Haydon Jenkins

Jarald Haydon Jenkins (JJ), 73 of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away on August 22, 2017, at his home surrounded by loved ones. Jarald was born and raised in Gilstrap, Kentucky to the late Marvin Lee "AppleMan" Jenkins and Carmen Howard Richardson who survives. Other than his father he is preceded in death by two brothers - Gary Lee Jenkins and one nephew Scott Jenkins.

Jarald spent his life along side his sweetheart Beulah Embry Jenkins; they were wed in Leitchfield, Kentucky on August 12, 1964, and just celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary together. They traveled the world from Oklahoma to Guam to Deleware and back to Kentucky. They made a big wonderful family that would be his pride and joy. Jarald was a family man with a heart of gold and a great, sometimes sarcastic sense of humor. He had a passion for photography and a keen eye for nature. You would always see him with his camera in hand. He loved traveling, fishing, computers, UK basketball, his Butler County class of 1962 and attending all his grandchildren's children sports and events throughout the years.

Jarald was retired from the USAF where he served our country as an airplane mechanic for 20 years. He is also retired from Redcap Industries and worked as a courier for Excel Anesthesia. Jarald was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of Aberdeen Baptist Church.

He is survived by his mother Carmen Howard Richardson, wife  Beulah Embry Jenkins, two daughters Penny Bont (Rodney) and Paula Hurt; eight grandchildren Tobi Keown (Ben), Michael Gary (Katie), Kristen Brooks Gary (Scott), Jerri Forbes (Andrew), Zachery Gary, Caitlyn Ford, Nicholas Gary and Macauley Hampton; seven great grandchildren Keegan and Levi Forbes, Mason and Layla Brooks, Maddox and Cruze Keown and Henry Gary, and brother Truman Jenkins (Judy).

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Saturday, August 26, 2017, at 12:00 p.m. with Bro. Roger Taylor officiating. Burial will be in the Aberdeen Cemetery where military rights will be presented by AM Vets Post #117. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Saturday 8:00 a.m. until funeral time at 12:00 pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
