Janice R. Amos

Janice Rae Amos, 74 of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away Friday, March 1, 2013, at her residence. Janice was born September 11, 1938, in Butler County, Kentucky to the late Daniel Rogers and Mabel Burton Young and wife of the late Robert Porter Amos. She was a homemaker, member of Mt Vernon Missionary Baptist Church, Dexterville Homemakers Club and a Special Needs Teacher in Butler County. She was preceded in death by one sister Jo Chyle.

Janice Rae Amos is survived by 3 daughters; Deborah Rae Amos of Morgantown, Ky., Peggy Sue McNeill of Hickman, Ky. and Sandra Kaye Hunt of Morgantown, Ky.; son Bobby Amos Jr. of Morgantown, Ky.; 4 granddaughters Jessica Dawn Simmons of Morgantown, Ky., Sarah E. Amos of Morgantown, Ky., Shonna McNeill of Paterson, LA and Carley Brown of Morgantown, Ky.; 5 grandsons Josh Amos of Morgantown, Ky., Rodney Gregory of Morgantown, Ky., Robert Gregory of Perrysburg, OH, Dustin Embry of Morgantown, Ky. and Joey Bates of Mayfield, Ky.; great grandchildren Will and Clay Amos of Morgantown, Ky., Gracie Hunt and Kaydence Lykins of Morgantown, Ky., Emily Gregory of Morgantown, Ky., Makenlee, Sophie and Jagger McNeill of Person, LA and Adelynn Bates of Mayfield, Ky.; 3 sisters Sharon Dotson of Morgantown, Ky., Faye Thomas of Bowling Green, Ky. and Dana Smith of Clearwater, FL; 2 brothers William C. Rogers of Glasgow, Ky. and Ricky Young of Mt Washington, Ky. and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Mt Vernon Missionary Baptist Church Monday, March 4, 2013 at 1:00pm with Bro. Gene Garner officiating. Burial will be in the Mt Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, March 3, 2013, from 2:00pm – 8:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel and Monday 10:00am until funeral time at 1:00pm at Mt Vernon Missionary Baptist Church.
