James Wallace Embry

James Wallace Embry, 75, of Morgantown, Ky.  passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at the Medical Center of Bowling Green.  He was born in Champagne, Ill. on June 21, 1944 to the late Walton James and Bernice Louise Joiner Embry. James was a carpenter who loved to fish, drink coffee and watch traffic.  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Loretta Embry; grandson Jayden Hawkins; friend Johnny Shepherd.            

 

James is survived by one son James William Embry (Robin) of Morgantown; one daughter Tammy Deweese (Lee) of Morgantown; grandson Cody Deweese of Morgantown; three step sons Edward Risinger IV (Krista) of Shelbyville, James Shepherd (Carolyn) of Morgantown, Nathan Shepherd of Morgantown;  step daughters Brandy Shepherd of Morgantown, Sylvia Childress (Josh) of Brownsville; 21 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; brother Jerry Wayne Embry (Debbie) of White Mills; lifelong friend Melody Shepherd of Morgantown; several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 3 at 2pm at Smith Funeral Home with Bro. Gus Huff officiating. Burial will follow in the Slate Bank Cemetery in Brownsville.  Visitation will begin on Wednesday, July 3 from 10am until time of service at Smith Funeral Home, Morgantown, Ky.
