James T. "Jim"  Johnson Sr., age 79 of Cromwell, Kentucky passed away Monday, January 29, 2024 at his residence. Jim was born on Saturday, January 13, 1945 in Louisville, KY to the union of the late Robert and Loretta Guinn Johnson. He was a United States Army Veteran, faithful member of East Fairview Baptist Church and a retired truck driver for Young Manufacturing. Jim enjoyed John Deere tractors, making walking sticks with Bible verses on them, listening to gospel music and serving the Lord. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by one daughter Sandra Michelle Johnson, grandson Nicholas White and one brother Bobby Johnson. 

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 58 years Nellie Wilkerson Johnson of Cromwell, KY; one daughter Angela Daily (Thomas) of Owensboro, KY; one son Jamie Johnson (Pamela) of Hartford, KY; three grandchildren Dustin Daugherty (Jennifer) of Cromwell, KY, Heather White (Dewayne) of Sacramento, KY and Tori Smith of Owensboro, KY; great grandchildren Andrew, Lucas, Adalyn and Hayvin; 5 step grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren; two siblings Douglas Johnson (Dora) of Owasso, Oklahoma and Nancy Noel (Buddy) of Barbourille, KY and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held at the East Fairview Baptist Church on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 1:00pm with Bro. Carl Decker Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery where family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel and Saturday 10:00am until funeral time at 1:00pm at the East Fairview Baptist Church.
