James Ralph Forbes, 83 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Monday, January 27, 2014 at Morgantown Care and Rehab Center in Morgantown. Mr. Forbes was born November 8, 1930 in Butler County, to the late Lebron and Ollie Johnson Forbes.  He was a retired farmer and a  member of Carve Rock Baptist Church.  He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Mary Frances Forbes, Aleen Forbes and his brothers Lee, Findley, Wayne and Joe Forbes.

James Ralph Forbes is survived by 2 daughters Margaret Ann Phelps and husband Moss Phelps of Morgantown, Mary Ruth June and  husband Dick of Sarasota, Fl.; 2 sons Loyd Forbes of Morgantown and Bobbie Forbes of Morgantown; 6 grandsons Jason Loyd Forbes of Bowling Green, Thomas Andrew Forbes of Morgantown, Timothy Phelps of Morgantown, Josh Phelps of Morgantown, James Allen Cardwell of Morgantown, Garrett Tucker of Sarasota, Fl.; 5 great-grandchildren: Keegan Forbes, Laela Phelps, Alyssa Phelps, Amelia Tucker and  Levi Forbes ; 1 brother Richard Forbes of Morgantown.     

Funeral Service will be held at Smith Funeral Home, Friday, January 31, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Jimmy McIntosh officiating . Burial will follow in the Hill Haven Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, January 30, 2014 from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. until time of service at Smith Funeral Home.
