James R. Ferguson, 81 of Scottsville, Ky. formerly of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Friday, September 23, 2016, at the Cal Turner Rehab & Specialty Care in Scottsville, Ky. James was born June 17, 1935, in Grayson County, Kentucky to the late Herbert Presley and Peachy Tula Evans Ferguson. He was a member of Antioch Church of Christ. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by three sisters Mable Bates, Lucille Geary and Mary Bates and two brothers Jessie and Derman Ferguson.
James R. Ferguson is survived by one daughter Tula Hunt of Scottsville, Ky.; one son James "Jamie" Arthur Ferguson and wife Christina of Gilbert, AZ; mother of his children Linda Ferguson of Scottsville, Ky.; four grandchildren Cliff Robert (Jennifer) Morris of Morgantown, Ky., Risa Ann Gilliam (Michael) of Scottsville, Ky., Sofia Avery and Lilliana Alicia Ferguson of Gilbert, AZ; one brother Romal Ferguson (Clara) of Horse Branch, Ky. and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Monday, September 26, 2016, at 3:00 pm with Bro. Carl Bates officiating.
Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 26, 2016, from 10:00 am until funeral time at 3:00 pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
