James N. Amos

James N. Amos age 81 of Morgantown Ky., passed away on Saturday February 12, 2022 at his residence in Morgantown Ky., He was born on Wednesday March 27, 1940 in the Jetson Community of Butler County Ky., to the late Estil and Eileen Keown Amos. James was a United States Army Veteran, attended Belmont General Baptist Church,  Jetson Community Church and retired from Linkbelt in Lexington Ky. after many years of service. He was a avid UK fan, loved working on his farm, porch setting, and spending time with his family and friends. Other than his parents he is preceded by 2 siblings Jimmy D. Amos and Stella Amos.

James N. Amos is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Shirley Beasley Amos of Morgantown Ky., 3 children Angelina Kay Amos of Morgantown Ky., Timothy Scott Amos (Michele) of Winchester Ky., and Brian Keith Amos (fiance Chele) of Morgantown Ky., 10 grandchildren Ryan James Amos (Chanice) of Lexington Ky., Kodi King (Josh) of Central City Ky., Adam Amos of Chandler Arizona, Austin Amos (Nicole) of Lawrenceburg Ky., Brianna Amos (Tina) of Lexington Ky., Dakota Walker (Taylor) of Lexington Ky., Nathan Walker  of Lexington Ky., Langston Amos of Louisville Ky., Shelbi Amos Holloman of Lexington Ky., and Courtney Amos of Lexington Ky. 5 great grandchildren Janaesha, Memphis, Grayson, McKenna, and Athena. 5 sisters Ida Lindsey of Morgantown Ky., Sheila Amos of Jeffersonville IN., Kathy Skaggs of Morgantown Ky., Pat Prestigiacomo of Bowling Green Ky., and Marcia Scott of Morgantown Ky., 5 brothers W.B. "Bill" Amos (Cheryl) of Morgantown Ky., Rubin Amos (Karen Sue) of Columbus Ohio, Larry Amos Russellville Ky., Terry Amos (Darla) of Morgantown Ky., and Darrell Amos (Linda) of Morgantown Ky. and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held at the Belmont General Baptist Church on Wednesday February 16, 2022 at 1:00 pm with Bro. TJ Howard officiating. Burial will be in the Minton Cemetery where Military rites will be observed by the Ohio County AM Vets Post 117 and the grandsons serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 15, 2022 from 11:00 am till 8:00 pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel and on Wednesday February 16, 2022 from 10:00 am until funeral time at 1:00 pm at the Belmont General Baptist Church.
