James Michael "Mitchell" Kirby

James Michael "Mitchell" Kirby, 79 of Murfreesboro, TN formerly of Quality, KY passed away Sunday, August 16, 2020 at the Stonecrest Medical Center in Smyrna, TN. Mitchell was born November 8, 1940 in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky to the late James Edward and Era Nell Davidson Kirby. He was a United States Army Veteran and retired mechanic and truck driver. Mitchell loved camping, fishing and being with family and friends. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by one sister Brenda Jones; one brother Greg Kirby and one grandson Christopher Henderson. 

James "Mitchell" Kirby is survived by his loving wife of 37 years Jeanne Lawrence Kirby of Murfreesboro, TN; seven children Gunner Miller (Elizabeth) of Murfreesboro, TN, Danielle Miller of Smyrna, TN, Melissa Henderson (Ritchie) of Morgantown, KY, Annie Kirby of Nashville, TN, Jim Kirby of Murfreesboro, TN, David Kirby (Alesia) of Kingsport, TN and Bobbi Jo Dennis (Scott) of Huntsville, KY; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; three brothers Wilbur Kirby of Dunmor, KY, Bobby Kirby (Annette) of Quality, KY and Roger Kirby (Patsy) of Quality, KY; four sisters Annetta Cole of Monroe, LA, Virginia Enlow (C.M.) Boston, KY, Elizabeth Reynolds (Charlie) of Hillsboro, IN and Donna Russell (Steve) of Wellford, SC; sister in law Rosie Kirby of Huntsville, KY and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Thursday, August 20, 2020 at 12:00 pm with burial in the Mt Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2020 from 10:00am until funeral time at 12:00pm.
