James Lloyd Johnson, a cherished father, grandfather, and master of all trades, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2024, in Morgantown, KY, at the age of 76. Born on November 12, 1947, in Jetson, KY, James's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and the joy of craftsmanship.

James was preceded in death by the love of his life, Cathy Johnson, with whom he shared a bond that was a beacon of devotion and affection. He was also preceded by one daughter, Christie Elizabeth Cusick, four brothers, and one sister, who all held special places in his heart. His legacy continues through his two sons, Matt Johnson, ( Rachel Player), and Mark Johnson, (Samantha), as well as his daughter Molly Johnson, (Melissa Durbin) all of Morgantown, KY . James was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren: Taylor, Ryleigh, Bailey, Clayton, Kinsley, Luke, and Avery, who will carry forward his spirit of generosity and love and several nieces and nephews.

An avid woodworker, James found solace and joy in the art of transforming wood into beautiful, functional pieces. James's love for the outdoors was evident to all who knew him. His faithful dog, Pookie, was a constant companion, and together they shared many adventures and quiet moments. James's grandchildren were the light of his life.

A celebration of life will be held at Crossland Community Church on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at 2:00pm. Arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Chapel.
